Ralph and Audrey : seasoned wanderers

Your tour hosts, Ralph and Audrey Lawrence, have been traveling the world together for over 27 years. They formed Classic International Journeys over 25 years ago, to create their world-wide personal tours that have ranged across every corner of the globe ever since.

President and CEO of CIJ, Ralph is a retired clergy who served in Maine, Idaho and Oregon for 41 years. He selects and organizes each escorted travel adventure so that it will be a great experience for every tour member.

As first partner in CIJ, Audrey co-hosts nearly every tour, assisting tour members to make every travel experience an enjoyable one. Her cheerful smile and confident, friendly assistance makes every tour special! Audrey is a secondary (high school English) teacher who taught in Oregon for 19 years.

Both Ralph and Audrey are active with the Cathedral of the Rockies [First United Methodist Church] in Boise, Idaho. They enjoy a combined family of eight children, 19 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Doug Lawrence : traveler, photographer, musician

Doug is Tour Manager for CIJ. A professional musician and photographer for many years, he has studied at Mt. Hood Community College and Boise State University, with further studies with the music faculty of Albertson College of Idaho / Langroise Trio. He is the owner of Aspen Studios in Boise, specializing in wedding, portrait, and family photos, and travel photography. A 19 year veteran of the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra in which he plays cello, Doug is a versatile member of the Boise Arts scene. He played trumpet, his other instrument of choice, with the El Sol de Acapulco Mariachi Band for ten years, and is a regular participant in the Gene Harris Jazz Festival. He teaches music at the Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy, and is also a founding member of the Castle Rock String Quartet, the Caritas Symphony in Sun Valley, and the Riverside Jazz Orchestra. He has a daughter, Tara Lawrence, age four.

An enthusiastic world traveler, recently returned from extensive travel in Russia and China, Doug is ready to host you on one of his special touring adventures.
